What help is available

Guidance for finding and judging Facebook cancer groups safely, plus any group listings that have passed our verification process.

Good to know

Most Facebook groups are private, so we cannot see inside to verify activity, moderation, or safety. We only list what is publicly visible, and we never collect member names or posts.

Before you join a Facebook group

Facebook group membership, posts, and interactions may be visible according to the group’s privacy settings and your Facebook account settings. Review the group’s rules and privacy information before joining.

Why so few Facebook listings?

Most cancer support groups on Facebook are private, which is good for members’ privacy — but it means we cannot see inside to verify that a group is active, moderated, and safe before listing it. We only publish Facebook groups we can verify from publicly visible information and the running organization’s own website, and we never collect member names, posts, or anything from behind a login.

Run or belong to a well-moderated group? Suggest it — organization-run groups with public rules are the easiest to verify.

A note about peer support

Peer support can provide understanding and practical encouragement, but group members may share personal experiences that do not apply to everyone. Do not change treatment, medication, or urgent-care decisions based only on advice from an online group.

We do not yet have verified listings in this category.

Every listing must pass verification before it appears here — we’d rather show you nothing than something we haven’t checked. You can browse all support resources or suggest a resource.

What this directory is — and isn’t

This is a free discovery tool. Listing an organization, program, or community here does not mean Cancer Explained medically endorses it, and we cannot guarantee assistance, availability, or eligibility. Details change — always confirm directly with the organization. This directory is not medical advice, triage, or an emergency service. How listings are checked →
