Cancer Explained

Can you still have hope with terminal cancer?

Yes. You can still feel a sense of hope, even with terminal cancer.

When you are told that remission may not be possible, you can hope for other things. These may include comfort, peace, acceptance, and even joy. Hoping may give you a sense of purpose, and that in itself may help you feel better.

To build a sense of hope, some people find it helps to plan their days as they always have, set dates and events to look forward to, spend time with the people who matter most, and keep doing the things they enjoy. Finding small things to enjoy each day can make a difference. There is no right or wrong way to feel, and support from loved ones, counselors, and support groups is there if you want it.
