Can exercise help with cancer fatigue?
Yes. Exercise, including walking, may help you feel better and have more energy during and after treatment. It may seem surprising that moving more can ease tiredness, but physical activity is one of the approaches shown to help with cancer fatigue.
Choose an activity you enjoy, and make a plan with your health care team so it fits your situation. Other things that may help include good sleep habits, short naps of less than an hour, eating well, staying hydrated, and mind–body practices such as tai chi and yoga.
Your team can help you build an activity plan that is safe for you.
